Our fourth edition comes from the industrially influenced maverick Perc. The mix is a furious, yet hypnotic, amalgamation of abrading percussion and brutal sheets of transient noise. It is an undeniably infectious piece of work which reinforces the producers idiosyncratic talent. We cannot wait to see him play at the next Dystopia.

We flew over from Spain to review Bloc on Saturday, which, as I’m sure you all know, was shut down by the police.

It’s fair to say that Bloc ticket holders, some having travelled a long way for the festival, were understandably very annoyed at not being let in. However it also seems that a huge amount of Twitter users sat behind their laptops feeling the need to pass judgement and stick the boot in about what, we can say from first hand experience, has grown to be THE best festival of its kind. We wish Bloc a speedy recovery and hope the whole industry learns from the mistakes made this weekend.

With Bloc having been officially cancelled on Saturday morning, we have massive respect for the promoters that scrambled last minute for any available venue to put on the abundance of great DJs that were in London for the weekend. Plex, who were due to host an arena at Bloc with Perc Trax, found the Bussey building in Peckham available and announced their party late in the day.

They pulled it off to say the least. Gathering together a line up including Objekt, Surgeon, Truss and Perc in a great sounding warehouse location, fit for the nastiest of techno. With stellar sets from all DJs it was no surprise the dancefloor was packed until the early hours.  On arrival Objekt was setting the scene with his off-kilter, post-dubstep electro beats then Surgeon stepped up for 2 hours of insanity with techno and all types of electronica thrown into the melting pot. After cheering what was an incredible set by Surgeon the crowd welcomed Truss who delivered a dark and acid set, keeping the energy up at that time in the morning. Perc finished the night off without any intention of warming down and banged it out until the end at 6am.

Its worth saying that the promoters who made this party happen gave FREE entry to Bloc ticket holders. I’m sure any one who made it down to the Plex party will remember the weekend with a smile and not for the unfortunate circumstances associated with Bloc closing.

Congratulations to all involved with the south London knees up. We’ll definitely be making it to a future Plex, follow them on Twitter here –> http://twitter.com/plexlondon
